To Kill A Library Fine
2007(Book: To Kill A Mockingbird)Me: Wait … that’s not what I’m checking out!Librarian: My mistake! I’ll take it back!
2010Me:  Why do I have a $90 fine for a book I never took home??
-
In 2007, a librarian accidentally checked out a book near my pile of books, and I immediately told her it wasn’t mine. She took it back, but for the longest time, the library thought I still had it. After filling out all the necessary paperwork to explain myself, they said that I’d have to pay the fine if they couldn’t fine the book. I paid $30 at the end of 2008. Apparently, they RENEWED the book afterwards instead of reporting it as lost, which led to a $90 fine after I had already paid.
Supposedly they fixed it after I called yesterday. Fingers crossed, guys!
